80’ flat wagon for large-capacity containers

Model 13-4147

The flat wagon of model 13-4147 is designed to carry large-capacity containers to GOST 18477-79 according to the following loading diagrams:

– four 1С or 1СС, or 1СХ containers;

– three 1С or 1СС, or 1СХ containers;

– one 1А or 1АА, or 1АХ container and two 1С or 1СС, or 1СХ containers;

– two 1В or 1ВВ, or 1ВХ containers and one 1С or 1СС, or 1СХ container;

– two 1В or 1ВВ, or 1ВХ containers;

– two 1А or 1АА, or 1АХ containers;

– two 1С or 1СС, or 1СХ containers;

– one 1С or 1СС, or 1СХ container;

– one 1А or 1АА, or 1АХ container.

The flat wagon is suitable for operation on 1,520 mm gauge railways in Ukraine, CIS, Georgia, the republics of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

 Design peculiarities:

– center sill as a main structural element of this wagon has an optimized cross-section along the full length due to its complex configuration and varying thickness of its elements;

– end sills are designed in such a way that the loading length of the wagon exceeds the length over the end sills. This allows the flat wagon to have a smaller length over coupler pulling surfaces and consequently, shortens the overall length of a train;

– doubled cross-members are positioned at an angle to the center sill and have cutouts in their upper and vertical elements to achieve high strength characteristics at the minimum tare weight of the wagon;

– in terms of design, transversal welds are avoided in the most important assembly parts of the wagon which increases resistance to cyclic (fatigue) loads and has a positive effect on the frame operational life and durability in general;

– classic design of a loading deck (plain, with no outstanding elements) allows to use fork-lift truck for loading and unloading operations in the places not having cranes;

– the wagon is equipped with automatic pneumatic brakes with separate bogie braking which allows to distribute pressure force from braking shoe on wheelsets of each bogie depending on the wagon’s loading level which provides for safe braking in case of unequal loading of the wagon and increases safety of traffic.
