Flat wagon for pipes of large diameter

The flat wagon is designed for transportation of pipes of large diameter both with polymer coating and without it. The wagon is suitable for operation on 1,520 mm gauge railways in Ukraine, CIS, Georgia, the republics of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

Dimensions of transported pipes:

– diameter of 530 to 1,420 mm;

– length of 10,700 to 11,800 mm and 24,000 mm;

– wall thickness of 8 to 40 mm.

Design peculiarities:

– the structure of the flat wagon consists of stanchions rigidly fixed to a frame, end walls, lashing accessories, providing for a reliable fixation of pipes to avoid longitudinal movements and safety of pipes’ polymer coating and bevels;

– the design of the flat wagon allows to:

1) to solve a problem of transportation of 24,000 mm long pipes on a single rolling stock unit;

2) simplify loading process and reduce labour input while securing pipes;

3) avoid an application of single-use lashing accessories;

4) compactly arrange cargo on the flat wagon;

5) efficiently use the wagon’s payload.
