Multipurpose covered wagon

The wagon is designed to carry breakbulk and general cargoes, packed and bulk cargoes which do not require weather protection. The covered wagon is suitable for operation on 1,520 mm gauge mainline railways in Ukraine, CIS, Georgia, the republics of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

Design features:

– technical and economic parameters of the covered wagon of model 11-4150 such as load capacity (max. 68 tones), body volume (150 m³), and doorway width (4,000 mm) along with the same overall dimensions (length over coupler pulling faces is 18,720 mm) and load from axle on rail (23.5 tf) do not concede to that of the similar wagons of other manufacturers. Whereas the height of the doorway is larger (4,045 mm);

– the wagon is equipped with standard loading hatches on roof and on side walls. If required by a customer, the wagon may be without loading hatches;

– doors on side walls are fitted with sliding mechanism being supported in the lower part. This prevents them from jamming during opening or closing as an axis of force application and bearing axis is the same;

– in its closed (running) position, all the ends of the doors meet closely with elements of the body and with each other creating labyrinth sealing providing weather protection of cargo;

– the wagon is equipped with pneumatic automatic brake with separate bogie braking providing for optimal distribution of brake shoes pressure on wheel sets of each bogie depending on wagon’s loading which ensures safe braking with uneven loading of the wagon and increases traffic safety.
