Cock quenching wagon

Coke quenching wagon is a specialized service vehicle suitable for operation at coke enterprises and metallurgical plants. It is designed to accept incandescent coke coming from coking chambers, to transport it to quenching tower where the coke is quenched with water, and then to carry and discharge the cooled coke onto a coke wharf.

 Design features:

– the structure of the wagon is made of stainless steel plates which ensure high corrosion protection of a wagon;

– truss and shutters of the wagon exposed to the heat of red-hot coke are lined with extra strong rolled steel, and a sloped floor is made of heat resistant cast iron;

– opening mechanism is designed for both separate and simultaneous opening of shutters (depending on wagon size) with application of lever and pneumatic transmission drive;

– the wagon is to be drawn by a special electric locomotive;

– during discharging of cooled coke on a wharf, the structure of the vehicle stays stable.

The wagon may be produced of several standard sizes (depending on dimensions of furnaces being serviced) for 1435, 1524, and 1676 mm gauge railways.
