Covered hopper wagon for grain and other food products

The covered hopper wagon is designed for transportation of grain and other food products in bulk providing weather protection of the transported cargo. The wagon is suitable for operation on the network of 1,520 mm gauge mainline railways in Ukraine, CIS, Georgia, the republics of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

Design features:

– body volume capacity increased to 133 cubic meters;

– discharging of the car into the area between rails is performed through six unloading hatches that helps to speed up a process of discharging;

– arrangement of loading hatch covers has a labyrinth (nontight) structure which helps to avoid appearing of a vacuum inside of a body and as a result a deformation of body sheathing during the intensive discharging of the car;

– according to a customer’s requirements, the wagon may have 4 or 5 loading hatches;

– design of car frame structure elements offers the optimal combination of sections of longitudinal load-carrying elements;

– car body design provides for the proper cargo pouring due to arrangement of the extending load-carrying car body structure elements.
