Covered hopper wagon for cement

The covered hopper wagon is designed to transport cement in bulk and other nontoxic and nonpoisonous construction and granular cargoes providing weather protection of the cargo. The wagon is suitable for operation on the network of 1,520 mm gauge mainline railways.

Design features:

– discharging of the wagon is performed through the unloading hatches into an area between rails;

– a lever and screw drive of unloading mechanism, radial thrust bearings, and a handwheel of increased diameter applied in the car design significantly reduce efforts while closing and opening of unloading hatches;

– the design of the pockets allows to use suspended vibrators which helps to speed up and simplify discharging process;

– the framework of the walls (stakes and roof traverse arcs) is made outside of the body which allows to perform a proper anticorrosion treatment of the inner body sheathing surface, to prolong operation life of the wagon and to reduce the time needed to prepare it before loading;

– comfortable operation of the wagon is also ensured due to a centralized sealing of loading and unloading covers with the application of two seals.
