Covered hopper wagon for mineral fertilizers and raw materials

The covered four-pocket hopper wagon is designed to carry mineral fertilizers, raw materials for production of those, and other similar cargoes providing weather protection of the cargo. The wagon is suitable for operation on the network of 1,520 mm gauge mainline railways.

Design features:

– discharging of the wagon is performed through the unloading hatches onto both sides of a track;

– the framework of the walls (stakes and roof traverse arcs) is made outside of the body which allows to perform a proper anticorrosion treatment of inner body sheathing surface, to prolong operation life of the wagon and to reduce the time needed to prepare it before loading;

– a lever and screw drive of unloading mechanism, radial thrust bearings, and a handwheel of increased diameter applied in the car design significantly reduce efforts while closing and opening of unloading hatches;

– comfortable operation of the wagon is ensured due to a centralized sealing of loading and unloading covers with the application of two seals.
