Gondola wagon for copper ore

The 16-wheel gondola wagon is designed for transportation of lumpy copper ore on industrial and mainline railways of 1,520 mm gauge in Ukraine, CIS, Georgia, the republics of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia from places of its extraction to sites of processing.

The design of the wagon ensures its loading with excavators and unloading on rotary car dumper.

Design features:

Car body has the reinforced structure:

  • side and end walls are made of 10 mm plates;
  • flooring of a wagon is of 16 mm plate and is connected with the frame through damping elements (wooden bars and rubber spacers);
  • floor plates are bolted to the frame that allows to reduce the stress in the areas of connection;
  • interface of body and frame connection is nonlinear which allows to discharge ore fully without remain.

The gondola wagon has no domestic or foreign equivalents. The abovementioned makes it possible to load ore lumps of up to 0.25 t (onto non-covered flooring) and lumps of up to 2 t (onto partial filling not less than 300 mm) into gondola with an excavator with buckets of 6-8 cubic meters from a height of up to 2 meters without damaging the body.
